IPDS | Blacklists | Update

This section displays all the settings available for the current blacklist, organized into two tabs: Global and Farms. Remember to apply any changes by clicking the Submit button.

Global Settings for Local and Remote Backlists #

The Global Settings for both Local and Remote blacklists include Name, Type, and Policy.

Note that if the blacklist is preloaded, its name cannot be modified. Only user-created blacklists can be edited.

Local Blacklists Global Settings #

Local blacklists require adding a list of IP addresses or subnets in the Sources section.

Name. Should be descriptive for easy identification.
Type. Indicates that this is a local rule, requiring manual entry of custom IPs.
Policy. Must be set to either Allow or Deny, depending on the intended effect on your custom IP list.

Local Sources #

The Sources section includes the following information:

Source. The source IP address or source subnet in IPv4 format, which will be either allowed or denied.

These actions are only possible for custom user-created local lists. They are not applicable to remote lists or preloaded lists. The action can be performed by clicking on the source.

Remote Blacklists Global Settings #

The global settings for a Remote Blacklist are described below.

Updates for Remote Blacklists #

The Updates section allows you to schedule the download and update of the remote blacklist. There is a green cloud icon to download the blacklist set in the Url field. This lets you verify if the URL works as expected without waiting for the scheduled download.

Frequency. The frequency of blacklist updates. The available options are:

  • Daily. The blacklist will be updated every day. You can update the list multiple times a day or select a specific time for a daily update.

  • Weekly. The blacklist will be updated once a week. Select a Weekday and a specified Time for the update.

  • Monthly. The blacklist will be updated once a month. Select the Day of the month and a specified Time for the update.

The format of the remote file should be a plain text file with one IP address or subnet per line.

Here is an example of a correct blacklist format:

Each line should contain only an IPv4 address. To include an entire Subnet Range, use the format ipv4_address/bits. For example, 172.14.43.0/24 will cover IP addresses from 172.14.43.1 to 172.14.43.254.

Farms Blacklists Settings #

This section allows you to assign farms to preloaded or created blacklists through the Farms tab when updating a blacklist.

In this section, you can select one or more farms (by holding down the Shift key) and assign or remove the blacklist rule to/from them. You can also assign or remove it from all available farms using the double arrow buttons.
