RELIANOID 7.9.0 Community Edition is a security-focused maintenance release that strengthens the platform’s foundation by updating the operating system base and improving system reliability and lifecycle handling. This version is highly recommended for all Community Edition users, as it addresses critical vulnerabilities present in the previous OS base.
The most important change in this release is the upgrade of the underlying operating system to Debian Bookworm 12.13. This update incorporates all security fixes and stability improvements released between Debian 12.12 and 12.13, including patches for critical vulnerabilities affecting core system libraries, cryptographic components, networking subsystems, and privilege-handling mechanisms. By rebasing on Debian 12.13, RELIANOID 7.9.0 significantly improves its security posture and aligns with the latest upstream hardening and maintenance updates provided by the Debian Security Team.
Several system-level improvements have been introduced to enhance robustness and operational stability. RELIANOID now performs automatic cleanup of stale lock files every hour, reducing the risk of blocked operations caused by unexpected interruptions or abnormal process termination. Backup management has also been streamlined through the removal of obsolete parameters, simplifying configuration and improving long-term maintainability. Additionally, the Web UI server now shuts down gracefully, ensuring clean service stops during restarts, upgrades, or system shutdowns.
