# System | Backups | Create

This section enables users to create a backup file of the entire load balancer configuration.

To create a backup, select **Create Backup** from the drop-down menu, and the creation form will appear.

Fill in the required details.

**Name**. Provide a descriptive name to easily identify the backup file in storage. Only letters, underscores, or numbers are allowed.

Click the **Apply** button to save the current configuration in the backup storage.

## Command-Line Backup (noid-backup)

In addition to creating backups through the Web User Interface, RELIANOID allows administrators to generate configuration backups using the command-line tool noid-backup.

This command generates a backup file using the same configuration and backup rules defined in the system, including the paths specified in the `backupfor` variable.

Example usage:

```
noid-backup
```

This method is especially useful for automation scenarios such as scheduled or unattended backups.
