# Network | Virtual Interface

**Virtual Interfaces** enable the assignment of multiple IP addresses per **NIC**, **Bonding**, and **VLAN** interface configured in the system. Learn how to configure and manage them below.

The table below displays all the **Virtual Interfaces** configured in the system.

Here's a brief description of the fields in the table:

**Name**. Name of the virtual interface.
**Alias**. Identifies the interface with an alias for easy access when configuring a farm or other services.
**IP**. Network-layer IP address assigned to the virtual interface. Supports both IPv4 and IPv6.
**MAC**. Link-layer MAC address inherited from the parent NIC interface.
**Netmask**. Subnet mask of the parent **NIC**. Configurable only if the IP address is configured.
**Gateway**. Default gateway used by the virtual interface, inherited from the parent interface.
**Status**. Current status of the virtual interface:

- **Green**. Interface is **UP**.
- **Red**. Interface is **DOWN**.

**Actions**. Actions available for managing **Virtual Interfaces**:

- **Create a Virtual Interface**. Redirects to the Virtual Interface creation form.
- **Bring up**. Starts the interface.
- **Bring down**. Shuts down the interface, stopping it from accepting traffic.
- **Edit**. Modifies the virtual interface configuration, including IP address and alias.
- **Delete**. Clears the configuration and removes the virtual interface.

Explore these options to effectively manage your **Virtual Interfaces** as per your network requirements.
