# IPDS | DoS | Create

Customized DoS rules help prevent attacks on specific farm services.

To create a new DoS rule, select **Actions > Create DoS rule** and fill in the required fields:

**Name**. Provide a descriptive name for the rule.
  **Rule**. Choose the type of DoS rule to create. Options include:

- **Connection limit per second**: Sets a rate limit for new inbound connections per second per source IP.
- **Total connections limit per source IP**: Limits the number of established connections per source IP.
- **Check bogus TCP flags**: Protects against packets with bogus TCP flags.
- **Limit RST request per second**: Limits the number of RST packets per second for TCP connections.

Once all required data is entered, click the **Create** button to generate the new DoS rule.

After creating the DoS rule, you can assign it to any farm to protect its services.
